1351. Count Negative Numbers in a Sorted Matrix

 Given a m x n matrix grid which is sorted in non-increasing order both row-wise and column-wise, return the number of negative numbers in grid.

Example 1:

Input: grid = [[4,3,2,-1],[3,2,1,-1],[1,1,-1,-2],[-1,-1,-2,-3]]
Output: 8
Explanation: There are 8 negatives number in the matrix.

Example 2:

Input: grid = [[3,2],[1,0]]
Output: 0

Constraints:

  • m == grid.length
  • n == grid[i].length
  • 1 <= m, n <= 100
  • -100 <= grid[i][j] <= 100

Follow up: Could you find an O(n + m) solution?

In JS:

var countNegatives = function(grid) {
    let count = 0;
     for(let i=0; i<grid.length; i++){
       for(let j=0; j<grid[i].length; j++){
         if(grid[i][j] < 0) count ++;
       }
     }
     return count;
};
